Ericsson collaborates with Intel on advancing Thailand’s 5G usage and adoption

Ericsson and Intel will collaborate on the development of 5G use cases that can accelerate the digitalization of enterprises to support the Thailand 4.0 vision.

Intel and Ericsson will collaborate on their respective technology expertise to show how communications service providers (CSPs) can accelerate 5G adoption and expand their business-to-business (B2B) engagements based on 5G use-cases. Amongst the areas identified for collaboration are the joint development of enterprise use cases in select verticals such as manufacturing, transport, and logistics. In addition, it involves showcasing the role 5G connectivity can play in building sustainable and resilient digital economies.

Both Ericsson and Intel are committed to enabling the Thailand Industry 4.0 vision through 5G technology.

“As a long term and trusted strategic partner to Thailand, Ericsson will continue to work closely with key stakeholders to support the development of a diverse 5G ecosystem in Thailand to accelerate innovation. We will leverage our global 5G experience and collaborations with Intel to the benefit of CSPs in Thailand, with resilient network performance, scalability, simplicity, and security as a primary focus.” states Igor Maurell, Head of Ericsson Thailand.

Thomas Sennhauser, CTO for Communications Business, Asia Pacific Japan region, Intel Corporation said, “With the increasing digitalization of our society and economy, 5G is becoming fundamental in driving innovation across all business segments. Through this collaboration, we will help enable Thailand’s 5G infrastructure with innovative edge services – powered by Ericsson and Intel technologies – to help local enterprises transform and accelerate their businesses through digital solutions. Together, we aim to support the CSPs in Thailand to meet their energy-efficiency and broader sustainability goals as the communications industry embraces virtualized RAN and distributed architectures.”

Thailand has been a 5G front-runner market in the region, and Ericsson aims to ensure the country continues to be competitive on a global stage. Ericsson and Intel share their vision to bring both companies’ state-of-the -art technology and solutions, together with their global experience and expertise towards building trustworthy, open, and intelligent networks to realize Thailand’s goal of becoming a digital economy.
