SCB 10X joins AI2 Incubator’s $80M Fund III to launch 70 Applied AI startups

SCB 10X, the disruptive technology investment arm of SCBX Group, today announced a strategic partnership with AI2 Incubator through a cornerstone investment in its $80 million Fund III. The investment connects Thailand’s burgeoning innovation ecosystem with one of the world’s premier Applied AI startup incubators, based in Seattle, Washington.

AI2 Incubator will leverage the $80 million Fund III to launch 70 new Applied AI companies over the next five years. This fundraising marks a significant step in international AI investment collaboration, uniting strategic limited partners (LPs) from across the globe, including Thailand, Japan, and the United States.

Fueling Global AI Innovation and Digital Future

SCB 10X’s commitment to AI2 Incubator Fund III underscores its mission to identify and back transformative technologies poised to shape the future of financial services and digital innovation across Southeast Asia.

Pailin (Pie) Vichakul, Chief Investment Officer of SCB 10X, stated that the partnership taps into Seattle’s rich AI ecosystem. “AI2 Incubator pairs world-class research and big tech talent with the deep technical and entrepreneurial guidance of its leadership team to help founders successfully navigate the pre-seed stage and accelerate their commercial trajectory,” she said.

Jacob Colker, Co-Founder and Managing Director of AI2 Incubator, highlighted the fund’s unique model: “Our model goes beyond capital. We pair research depth and technical infrastructure with hands-on commercialization expertise. The goal is building enduring AI companies that solve real-world problems.”

Proven Success and Global Strategic Networks

Since its founding in 2015, AI2 Incubator has demonstrated an exceptional track record, with 90% of its incubated startups successfully raising further venture funding and 24% of graduates being acquired. Notable exits include XNOR (acquired by Apple) and Lexion (acquired by DocuSign).

Fund III’s distinguished LPs include Khosla Ventures, Point72 Ventures, SBI Holdings, and SCB 10X. This diverse capital base and global network provide a direct strategic benefit to founders, with particular strength in the Asian markets increasingly crucial for AI commercialization.

The incubator also anchors AI House Seattle, a physical innovation hub where over 100 resident experts—including top researchers, founders with major exits, and executives from Microsoft, Amazon, and OpenAI—collaborate to drive AI entrepreneurship.
