Meta has officially launched Business AI on Messenger in Thailand, introducing an always-on AI agent designed to act as a virtual sales concierge. The tool aims to help local businesses of all sizes engage and convert customers 24/7, democratizing access to sophisticated technology without requiring technical expertise.
The launch follows a 2025 Kantar study revealing that 81% of Thai adults message a business weekly, with 80% preferring messaging as their primary communication channel. Additionally, 68% of Thai consumers find AI-powered responses helpful, while 95% of local businesses report that messaging has significantly improved their customer experience.
Bridging the Gap for Small Businesses
Business AI is designed for effortless setup, learning directly from a business’s existing Facebook posts, catalogs, and website content. By offering this solution on Messenger at a competitive cost, Meta ensures that even small entrepreneurs without dedicated tech teams can deploy proactive sales representatives that guide customers from discovery to checkout.
Prae Dumrongmongcolgul, Country Director of Facebook Thailand, stated: “Our vision is to enable Thai businesses to transform with AI. Just as every single Thai business leverages a digital storefront on Facebook Page and Instagram profile, we firmly believe that every Thai business and entrepreneur should have their own AI Assistant. This tool not only helps Thai businesses interact with customers 24/7 but also acts as a powerful extension of their team—reflecting their business knowledge and brand voice—enabling them to grow at scale and truly unleash their full potential.”
Expert Perspectives on the AI Shift

Thitiphan Jinajan, a digital marketing expert from DigitalNook, shared insights on AI’s dual impact: “AI helps attract and engage customers while helping businesses manage conversations more efficiently. For many Thai SMEs, tools like Business AI on Messenger can help bridge these two sides by enabling businesses to respond 24 hours a day and avoid missing potential sales opportunities. These tools are becoming much easier to use, allowing even smaller businesses to start experimenting with AI.”
Success in Action
Munkong Gadget Leading audio retailer Munkong Gadget has already implemented the tool to close communication gaps during non-working hours.
Wiroongit Rattanasiraprapa, General Manager of Munkong Gadget, commented: “Even though the business is online 24 hours, there was a communication gap. Business AI chat was implemented to fill this gap and ensure customers can get answers at any time. Because we sell technology products, our Q&A can be quite deep; the AI agent uses algorithms to provide in-depth answers and link them directly to relevant products.”
