AIT partners with leading six professional bodies to drive Thailand’s AI workforce

AIT partners with leading six professional bodies to drive Thailand's AI workforce

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with six major Thai professional organizations on June 16, 2026, aimed at developing an AI-ready workforce and improving professional standards for artificial intelligence integration.

The agreement establishes a strategic network designed to prepare the regional workforce, upgrade professional standards, and support organizational capabilities for sustainable AI adaptation.

The six partner organizations include The Engineering Institute of Thailand Under H.M. The King’s Patronage (EIT), the Council of Engineers Thailand (COET), the Consulting Engineers Association of Thailand (CEAT), the Building Inspectors Association (BSA), the Artificial Intelligence Association of Thailand (AIAT), and the Artificial Intelligence Entrepreneur Association of Thailand (AIEAT).

The MoU was signed at the AIT campus by Prof. Pai-Chi Li (President of AIT), Assoc. Prof. Anek Siripanichgorn (President of EIT), Kittipong Weerapoprasit (President of COET), Noppadol Jaisue (President of CEAT), Pichaya Chantranuwat (President of BSA), Dr.Thepchai Supnithi (President of AIAT), and Dr.Chanwit Boonchuay (President of AIEAT).

On AIT’s side, the initiative will be led by the AIT School of Professional Intelligence (AITSPIN), a new institution focused on integrating professional development with AI technologies.

Prof.Pai-Chi Li, President of AIT, stated that proactive transformation and local strategic collaboration through the AITSPIN framework are necessary to navigate rapid developments in artificial intelligence and anticipate future industry shifts.

Prof. Emeritus Dr.Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Executive Director of AITSPIN, emphasized that the partnership serves as a bridge connecting educational knowledge with industry practice. He noted that while the technology sector focuses on models and data, the professional sector prioritizes safety, legal frameworks, and financial constraints. According to Dr. Worsak, this collaboration is designed to align these two distinct areas within Thailand.

The cross-sector partnership plans to support knowledge exchange, capacity training, professional development, and educational pathways. It will also establish the AITSPIN Professional Intelligence Community to connect learners, alumni, industry leaders, and professional practitioners.

AITSPIN’s curriculum is tailored for working professionals, combining domain expertise with AI application. Its flagship Master of Science (Professional) in Professional Intelligence program utilizes HyFlex and online learning platforms, featuring AI-integrated coursework and workplace-based Capstone projects.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Gen.Dr.Boonsrang Niumpradit, Chairman of the AIT Board of Trustees, and Dr.Prasert Patramai, a member of the AIT Executive Committee.
