Global logistics firm DHL Express has appointed Herbert Vongpusanachai as its new Senior Vice President of Commercial for the Asia Pacific region. The transition, effective April 1, 2026, will see Herbert relocate to Singapore from his previous position managing the company’s operations in Thailand and Indochina.
In his new regional capacity, Herbert is tasked with overseeing DHL’s commercial strategy, evaluating emerging trade routes, and driving volume growth across Asia Pacific markets. The appointment aligns with the company’s broader corporate strategy, which identifies eight Asia Pacific markets among its 20 primary targets for accelerated global expansion amid diversifying intra-Asia trade flows.
Herbert brings over 20 years of internal experience to the role. His tenure at DHL Express includes managing director positions for Thailand and Indochina (from 2003, and returning in 2020), Singapore (2008), and Hong Kong and Macau (2016).
Ken Lee, DHL Express CEO for Asia Pacific, stated that Herbert’s familiarity with diverse markets and his understanding of regional supply chain complexities will be utilized to advance the company’s commercial agenda.
Commenting on the transition, Herbert noted the continued reliance on the Asia Pacific region in global trade. He indicated plans to focus on technology adoption and expanding specialized shipping capacities, specifically highlighting the company’s efforts to increase volume in heavyweight freight services.
DHL Group, the parent company, operates in over 220 countries and territories with approximately 389,000 employees. The group reported roughly 82.9 billion euros in revenue for the 2025 fiscal year.
