{"id":12008,"date":"2021-01-27T11:34:06","date_gmt":"2021-01-27T04:34:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thestorythailand.com\/?p=12008"},"modified":"2021-01-27T15:50:18","modified_gmt":"2021-01-27T08:50:18","slug":"egat-adopts-ibms-ai-powered-enterprise-asset-management-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thestorythailand.com\/en\/egat-adopts-ibms-ai-powered-enterprise-asset-management-platform\/","title":{"rendered":"EGAT adopts IBM\u2019s AI-powered enterprise asset management platform"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>IBM announced that the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand\u00a0(EGAT), Thailand\u2019s largest power producer under the Ministry of Energy, has selected IBM\u2019s AI-powered enterprise asset management solutions to help manage the high-value assets of its electric power plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thestorythailand.com\/en\/27\/01\/2021\/11958\/\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook uses AI for newest updates<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thestorythailand.com\/en\/27\/01\/2021\/11987\/\" target=\"_blank\">LINE triumphs as the king of \u2018Chat Commerce\u2019<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>IBM\u2019s AI-powered Maximo Enterprise Asset Management, implemented by Triple Dot Consulting Co., Ltd., an IBM business partner, has now helped EGAT unify its asset management processes from maintenance, inventory management, parts purchase and supplier management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The single-view, cross-enterprise reporting capabilities now allow EGAT to identify items that have a significant impact on overall inventory cost, analyze different categories of stock that will require varied management and controls, whilst also decreasing inventory carrying costs by 30%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Optimizing asset management and maintenance processes helps EGAT not only improve operational performance by reducing cost and complexity associated with redundant asset management infrastructure and manual processes, but also lower the new equipment purchase by 3-5%, while improving availability and longevity of strategic assets by 5%. In addition, being able to integrate the system with procurement management platform allows EGAT to enhance operational speed and agility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBreakdowns, ill-timed maintenance and stoppages due to quality issues can hugely disrupt the electric power and energy resources of the country, impacting communities and tens of millions of citizens and businesses,\u201d said <strong>Nophol Phun-Ngun, Director of Power Plant Asset Management Division, EGAT.<\/strong> \u201cOwning and operating power plants across Thailand, EGAT\u2019s mission is to ensure that the power\u00a0system works\u00a0reliably and\u00a0securely for the nation.
