The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) reaffirmed its commitment to positioning Thailand as the ASEAN Digital and AI Hub by 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 2,000 participants including government leaders, global technology pioneers, and academic researchers gathered at Huawei Thailand Digital & AI Summit 2025 to explore the next phase of Thailand\u2019s digital economy, driven by artificial intelligence, cloud innovation, and cross-sector ecosystem collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prasert Jantararuangtong<\/strong>, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society,\u00a0delivered the keynote address, emphasizing that AI and digital innovation form the backbone of Thailand\u2019s long-term national strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThailand\u2019s digital economy is growing rapidly and is projected to expand by 7.3% in 2025,\u201d said Mr. Prasert. \u201cUnder our \u2018Growth Engine of Thailand\u2019 policy, we are enhancing national digital competitiveness, ensuring a secure digital society, and nurturing digitally skilled talent. With partners like Huawei, we are laying a robust foundation to uplift every sector of Thai society.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DE Minister also outlined the Thai government\u2019s three-pronged digital strategy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Enhancing digital infrastructure<\/strong>\u00a0through the Cloud First Policy, digital public service transformation, and universal high-speed connectivity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Fostering a secure digital environment<\/strong>\u00a0to ensure public trust and safeguard citizen rights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Developing human capital<\/strong>\u00a0by reskilling 10 million digital users, training 90,000 professionals, and producing 50,000 AI developers within the next two years.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    To align with the national policy on digital talent development, Huawei and Chulalongkorn University have joined forces to advance the AI innovation ecosystem and foster sustainable human capital development. This collaboration encompasses the development of ICT infrastructure, co-designing curricula in AI, Cloud, Big Data, IoT, and Digital Leadership, as well as supporting Chulalongkorn University\u2019s full transformation into a Smart Campus in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Prof. Parichart Sthapitanonda<\/strong>, Ph.D., Vice President of Chulalongkorn University, stated that \u201cThis collaboration with Huawei reflects our strong commitment to driving digital transformation in the education sector and preparing our students and staff for the modern economy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The partnership will leverage the four pillars of the Huawei ASEAN Academy (Thailand) to promote comprehensive talent development including 1) Business School for Leaders \u2013 Enhancing digital leadership for future executives, 2) Technical School for Creators \u2013 Training skills in AI, Cloud, and emerging technologies, 3) Engineer School for Practitioners \u2013 Strengthening hands-on capabilities for engineers, and 4) Digital Inclusion for Users \u2013 Promoting digital access and literacy on a broad scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    David Li<\/strong>, CEO of Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd.,\u00a0added that \u201cAI has arrived at the perfect time to accelerate Thailand\u2019s digital and intelligence transformation. In the next five years, the digital economy is expected to grow three times faster than the GDP. The integration of 5G, cloud, and AI technologies is enabling even small businesses, such as farmers, to adopt tools like AI-powered avatars for online selling and live streaming.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    William Dong<\/strong>, President of Huawei Cloud Marketing,\u00a0emphasized that AI has become the core engine of global technological innovation, and cloud is a solid foundation for inclusive and ubiquitous AI. Taking immediate action is the key to seizing AI opportunities.
