Nestl\u00e9 (Thai) Ltd. has announced a partnership with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) and the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) to transition all six of its factories in Thailand to 100% green electricity. The move is part of the Utility Green Tariff 1 (UGT1) program, which sources renewable energy from unspecified sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative is a crucial step in Nestl\u00e9’s commitment to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Since July 2025, the company has been using clean energy, such as hydroelectric and solar power, to operate its production facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Philippe Glauser<\/strong>, Technical Director at Nestl\u00e9 (Thai), stated that the switch to renewable energy is “a necessity for sustainably protecting our planet.” He highlighted Nestl\u00e9 as one of the first major food and beverage companies in Thailand to join the UGT1 program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives from both the MEA and PEA expressed their support, noting that the collaboration reflects their commitment to promoting clean energy and helping the industrial sector meet the growing demand for green electricity. They added that the partnership will boost long-term competitiveness for businesses while benefiting the environment and the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This move underscores Nestl\u00e9’s dedication to its ESG principles, demonstrating a focus on both providing nutritious products and prioritizing environmental and social responsibility throughout its business operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
