Effective October 20, 2026, users of compatible Samsung Galaxy devices can add a Rabbit Virtual Card to Samsung Wallet to tap and ride the BTS Skytrain, BRT buses, and Chao Phraya Express Boat services. The staggered rollout begins today and will be fully available across all compatible models by October 26, 2026. Samsung is also offering a 20-Baht flat-fare promotion across participating rail lines for the first 10,000 registered cards, with registration opening on November 1, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative addresses the mobility needs of Bangkok commuters. Greater Bangkok currently accommodates approximately 11 million residents, generating over 4.5 million public passenger trips daily. Urban rail networks average around 1.43 million daily trips (with roughly 46% transferring between lines), while water transport serves 70,000 daily passengers, driving the demand for a consolidated payment solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sitthichoke Nopchinabutr, President of the Mobile Experience Division at Thai Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., <\/strong>said: &#8220;Smartphones are with us throughout the day, and at Samsung, we believe they should do much more than communicate. That is why we developed Samsung Wallet to bring all your travel essentials into one place. Beyond storing boarding passes, Digital Car Keys, and Smart Living access for homes, condos, and offices, today marks a historic Thailand first: tapping your smartphone to ride BTS Skytrain, BRT buses, and Chao Phraya river boats. By letting technology handle the underlying complexity, Samsung Wallet streamlines daily routines so commuters can travel lighter, delivering a new lifestyle where everything you need is already in your Galaxy when you leave home.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Empowering Daily Life Through Mobile Innovation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Samsung Wallet has been developed as an intelligent digital wallet protected by Samsung Knox. Samsung Knox helps protect important user information through fingerprint authentication and encryption, while sensitive data is secured in a separate protected environment to help guard against potential threats. (Rabbit Card), part of BTS Group Holdings PCL. The partnership supports the joint technology development required for Samsung Wallet to work with Rabbit Virtual Card, creating practical benefits for both Samsung customers and people using public transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to convenience, daily travel costs are another everyday consideration for city residents. Samsung is therefore offering customers a special 20-Baht flat fare across participating rail lines, giving users an opportunity to experience travel through Samsung Wallet from 1 November through 31 December 2026, or until the quota is reached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The offer applies to BTS Sukhumvit (Light Green), Silom (Dark Green) and Gold lines, as well as the MRT Yellow and Pink lines. It is limited to the first 10,000 registered cards, with 2 privileges per person per card. Pre-travel registration opens on 1 November 2026 via SMS by typing SAVE, followed by a space and the 13-digit Rabbit Virtual Card number, and sending it to 4694100 (3 Baht per message), or via the LINE Official Account SAMSUNG THAILAND using the same format. Eligible users pay the actual fare upfront and receive cashback for the difference between the actual fare and 20 Baht. The cashback will be credited to the Rabbit Wallet linked to the user&#8217;s Rabbit Virtual Card on the day following the journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sitthichoke added: &#8220;We do not view the 20-Baht flat fare as merely a temporary promotion, but as a catalyst for meaningful behavioral change in everyday life. By starting with commuting, one of the most frequent routines for Bangkok residents, we build natural familiarity that paves the way for wider adoption across Travel, Digital Car Key, Smart Living, and the broader Galaxy Ecosystem. It demonstrates how mobile innovation delivers tangible everyday benefits. Our goal is to make urban travel genuinely seamless and all-in-one without waiting for a unified ticketing system rollout.
