MQDC Co-Sponsors MIT Industrial Liaison Program (ILP)

MQDC supported and spoke at an MIT Industrial Liaison Program (ILP) seminar by MIT, a leading US university. World-leading research organizations in science, engineering, design, and art joined the “2024 MIT Bangkok Symposium: Technologies and Policies for a Sustainable World” on 18 January 2024 at True Digital Park.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh Intrachooto, Chief Sustainnovation Officer of the Research & Innovation for Sustainability Center (RISC) by MQDC, represented MQDC as one of the event’s panelists. MQDC is helping achieve the key goals of the MIT Industrial Liaison Program (ILP) through its ongoing research into sustainable decarbonization, including its “Nature Positive Carbon Negative 2050” goal and its “Resilience Framework”, he said.

“I’m delighted that a world-class institution like MIT recognizes MQDC’s capabilities and comprehensive understanding of sustainable development by choosing the company to speak on key topics. ‘Nature Positive Carbon Negative 2050’ and the ‘Resilience Framework’ are issues we have always focused on as a real estate developer that truly cares about sustainability and promotes biodiversity in every project,” said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh.

The global seminar by MIT ILP on technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and achieve sustainability was led by Prof. John E. Fernandez from the MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative (ESI) with the theme of “Getting to Net Zero”. MIT ILP chose Thailand as the center of ASEAN.

The event emphasized the importance of monitoring climate change as a rising challenge. The seminar called for continuing research and development to achieve net zero and urgent sustainable decarbonization to tackle climate change and biodiversity loss. Technology and government policy must be developed together to address the challenges in time.
