gettgo secures Bt200 million in development funding

Platform for comparing insurance products aims for biggest and best

Gettgo, the customizable online comparison platform for health- and life-insurance products, has received Bt200 million in funding from Muang Thai Group Holding, and is aiming to reach Bt1 billion in premiums within three years. 

The managing director of Muang Thai Broker – the operator of gettgo – Tanat Jakrawatana, said that to achieve the target, gettgo would need to add new products and increase its number of insurance partners to become the market leader, in terms of product diversity and the breadth of its selection.

Currently, gettgo has seven partners, including Muang Thai Life Assurance, Muang Thai Insurance, Generali Thailand, Cigna Insurance, Falcon Insurance, Manulife Insurance, and Aetna. 

This year, gettgo will be looking for leading partners in life and health insurance. Moreover, to become a smarter health- and life-insurance platform, it will use data aggregation in order to recommend products that are suitable for customers with different needs and profiles. It aims to be the first in the market using data of customers’ interests to make it a smarter search engine for health insurance products.

gettgo will also launch another online platform for insurance brokers, in order to provide a tool and crucial reinforcement services to assist brokers during the move from offline to online insurance sales.

gettgo’s rapid growth in every aspect of its business over the past three years has met its targets for success, Tanat said. The number of users of the website has increased from tens of thousands to millions.

“When people become health conscious, and there is ceaseless growth of the online world, it is the most suitable time for investment in the development of a health- and life-insurance comparison platform,” Tanat said. “gettgo is considered an excellent tool that is ready to answer people’s needs in an age when everyone wants to compare products and decide for themselves what is best for them.”
