AIS, through its AIS Aunjai CYBER initiative, has launched a campaign on International Stop Cyberbullying Day 2026 to urge the public to halt judgmental and victim-blaming behavior against cybercrime targets. The initiative aims to transform online comment sections into supportive spaces, encouraging victims to speak up and seek assistance.
While public awareness regarding cyber threats and online harassment has grown among Thais, the practice of judging, blaming, or shaming victims—especially those defrauded by online scams—remains persistent. This hostile environment discourages victims from sharing their experiences, reporting incidents to authorities, or seeking help, consequently allowing cybercrime to continue proliferating.
Established by the Cybersmile Foundation, International Stop Cyberbullying Day is observed annually on the third Friday of June to raise global awareness about online bullying and foster positive digital citizenship. In alignment with this global initiative, AIS Aunjai CYBER has introduced the campaign “Stop with the Bullying! Switch the Comments into a Safe Zone” to promote compassionate and constructive online interactions. The nationwide campaign invites the public to replace judgmental remarks with supportive messages, creating a digital environment where individuals feel safe to voice their challenges.
Empathy and Cultural Shift Crucial Beside Technology
Saichon Submakudom, Chief Corporate Communication of AIS, stated that victims of online crime frequently endure double victimization—first from scammers, and subsequently from social criticism and blame from those around them. She emphasized that sharing these personal experiences is actually a crucial mechanism for preventing others from falling prey to identical scams.
According to Mrs. Saichon, AIS believes that developing a secure digital society requires more than just deploying safe technology; it fundamentally necessitates cultivating an organizational and public culture rooted in respectful, empathetic, and non-judgmental communication. The company encourages users to transition from discouraging comments to supportive messages, noting that a few thoughtful words can provide victims with the confidence needed to address their problems and move forward.
Promoting Responsible Digital Citizenship
This campaign underscores AIS Aunjai CYBER’s commitment to driving responsible digital citizenship and safeguarding the online environment. The company maintains that alongside cyber threat prevention, fostering mutual respect, empathy, and understanding on digital platforms is essential to empowering individuals to learn, seek help, and overcome difficulties.
Acknowledging that words carry significant impact—either silencing an individual through criticism or motivating them to seek support—AIS invites the public to participate in establishing these online Safe Zones. Members of the public can join the campaign and contribute positive comments to help build a safe digital community at https://aisstopcyberbullyingday.com/ or via the Facebook page “AIS For Thais” .
