Amity, an AI technology company founded in Thailand, has been recognized as a cornerstone of Southeast Asia’s artificial intelligence landscape in the latest “Southeast Asia Deal Review: Q1 2026” report published by DealStreetAsia.
The report highlights Amity’s US$100 million Series D funding round as a significant milestone for the regional technology sector. Amid a broader market deceleration—marked by a funding winter where regional private equity and venture capital deal counts compressed significantly—Amity ranked as the third largest equity fundraiser across all technology segments in Southeast Asia for the first quarter of 2026.
Key findings from the DealStreetAsia Q1 2026 report include:
- AI/ML Sector Dominance: Amity recorded the single largest funding transaction in the Data Analytics and AI/ML category across Southeast Asia, confirming its position as the region’s largest AI/ML funding round.
- Ecosystem Catalyst: Under the section titled “Amity’s $100m fundraiser boosts Thailand’s AI scene,” the report details how Amity’s capital injection drove late-stage transaction value for the local tech ecosystem.
- Regional Position: Ranking as the third largest overall private equity fundraiser in Southeast Asia for Q1, Amity placed alongside major regional tech infrastructure giants.
The capital, led by EDBI and co-led by Asia Partners and SMDV—with participation from existing and new investors, including CMLIM Capital—is currently being deployed across Amity’s core strategic pillars. These include accelerating the R&D timeline at the Amity AI Research & Application Center (ARAC) in Bangkok and Singapore to deploy specialized Vertical AI Agents, executing cross-border M&A to upgrade traditional software into AI-native products, and recruiting international engineering talent.
According to an “Insider Insights” interview with Korawad Chearavanont, Executive Chairman & Founder of Amity, on page 63 of the report, the company’s strategy focuses on leveraging industry-specific domain data rather than relying solely on public models. This approach is designed to deliver enterprise solutions for over 20,000 brands globally.
