YouTube launches Super Chat, Super Stickers and Super Thanks in Thailand

YouTube officially launches Super Chat, Super Stickers and Super Thanks in Thailand, offering new ways for creators to build even stronger connections with their fans and monetize. Creators that are part of the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) can start using them from today.

YouTube believes creators and artists should be able to transform their passion into a business. Over fourteen years ago, YouTube first kicked off these efforts with the launch of the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), and since then, YouTube has rolled out a multitude of ways that creators can make money beyond ads.

In Thailand, YouTube has been offering different ways for creators to monetize, including Channel Memberships. In fact, creators in Thailand have already been building great connections with their audience using channel memberships. The number of channels in Thailand that earn a majority of revenue from alternative monetization products in June 2021 saw an increase over 150% compared to the prior year. Also, in June 2021, YouTube channels in Thailand earned over 250% more revenue from channel memberships as compared to prior year.

Super Chat, Super Stickers and Super Thanks will help fans and creators to connect with one another. Super Chat and Super Stickers will allow viewers to support their creators during livestreams and Premieres, while Super Thanks will enable fans to express their gratitude and show support on a video’s watch page.

  • Super Chats are highlighted messages in the chat stream that stand out from the crowd to get even more of your favorite creator’s attention. Super Chats remain pinned to the top of chat for up to 5 hours, giving more airtime for your messages.
  • Super Stickers allow viewers to buy cool stickers to connect with their favorite creators. Stickers come in different packs and languages, helping creators earn more money while also connecting with their audience.
  • Super Thanks lets viewers support the creators and content they love by purchasing a Super Thanks on a video’s watch page. Buyers also get to post a distinct, colorful and customisable comment in the video’s comments section.
