KBank with DHL Express to support the cross-border transportation of shipping documents using SAF

KASIKORNBANK (KBank) and DHL Express have jointly engaged in the GoGreen Plus project to support the cross-border transportation of shipping documents using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in order to reduce carbon emissions. Being the first bank to join this project, KBank is determined to support its business customers in contributing to environmental conservation.

This effort is expected to significantly reduce the overall life-cycle carbon footprint by approximately 70-80 percent compared to the use of conventional aviation fuel, while also cutting the emission of harmful substances, including small particles and sulfur. This initiative will contribute to the journey towards net-zero emission operations in a sustainable manner.

Kullawat Phumthien, KBank First Executive Vice President, said, “KBank has operated its business in accordance with the principles of a Bank of Sustainability. We have implemented environmental policy that focuses on the reduction of carbon footprint in our services. The objective of DHL Express’s GoGreen Plus is in alignment with KBank’s goal, thus inducing us to become the first bank to support and encourage our business customers to dispatch their shipping documents through SAF solutions instead. Our customers will not be charged any additional expenses, so that all sectors can contribute to reducing global warming, an important goal that requires everyone’s collaboration.”

Herbert Vongpusanachai, Managing Director, DHL Express Thailand and Head of Indochina  “We are honored to onboard KBank on GoGreen Plus service to reduce carbon emissions for its time-definite international (TDI) shipments through the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) as we align closely in our aspirations for sustainable operations. SAF effectively tackles this challenge and delivers climate advantages in the immediate near term. As the global leader in logistics, we are diligently working to expedite the availability and affordability of SAF, enabling our customers to achieve their net-zero goals,” says Herbert Vongpusanachai, Managing Director, DHL Express Thailand and Head of Indochina.

The project is aimed at reducing the overall life-cycle carbon footprint by 70-80 percent compared to the use of conventional aviation fuel, while also cutting the emissions of harmful substances, including small particles and sulfur, with the use of sustainable aviation fuel. These emissions are generated during logistics activities – the receipt and delivery of shipping documents – which are integral to the supply chain process in import-export businesses. Additionally, the effort will help drive the business sector towards achieving net zero carbon emissions in a stable and sustainable manner.
