“NiM Express” offers “Cold Chain”

NiM Express, a Thai logistics company, eyes on “Cold Chain,” focusing on offering swift delivery services with great prices under the “Trust NiM Express”.

It plans to provide a full-on delivery service for temperature-controlled supply chain or “Cold Chain,” with key features such as “Door to Door” shipping and Next Day guarantee.

NiM Express is confident that it will attract clients with high quality services and friendly prices that would help the firm achieve its target.

Chartchai Suwitsakdanont, CEO of NiM Express, has said that NiM Express has shown continuous growth, that came from a business expansion that covered a wider range of shipping services and broader areas nationwide.

The company was able to generate Bt1.16 billion in sales last year, an increase of 23% year-on-year. The company sets a target of making Bt1.5 billion in sales this year.

NiM Expressed had previously laid down infrastructure, prepared logistics systems, and purchased essential equipment, including refrigerated trucks. The logistics firm is now ready to provide “Cold Chain” service throughout the nation, with friendly prices and simple service conditions for customers.

“There are a number of “Cold Chain” logistics service providers but none of them offers a nationwide service. However, that changes now with NiM Express being the first Thai logistics company to provide that operation countrywide. We intend to focus on this market and aim at becoming the leading “Cold Chain” service provider.”

Currently, NiM Express have refrigerated trucks ready for nationwide Cold Chain operation, with Next Day guarantee and Door to Door delivery options for both chilled and frozen goods. The company plans to use a single ‘lump sum’ price scheme, charging a “fixed-price” for a destination, regardless of the number of goods with the starting price of just Bt100.

Chartchai said that NiM Express now has offices around the country, with the capacity to deliver at least 200,000 pieces of goods per day. The firm will continue to increase more offices, in order to provide greater convenience to customers.

As a Thai company, NiM Express focuses on generating growth with its own capital. By nature of the business, it is normal for business owners — especially online vendors — to compare the prices of different delivery service providers.

“We are offering what we have, and we are making adjustments to suit customer demand, while giving them the most straight-forward pricing scheme. Thus, we changed our pricing structure to directly base on weight, while still offering the Next Day guarantee service.”

Although the growth in e-commerce in Thailand has surged, Thai companies do not have international funding, making it difficult for us to fully engage in a brutal price war among express delivery service providers that see competitors repeatedly cutting prices.

New players who want market share often are willing to ignore the capital mechanism. It’s almost like they are competing for the defeat. Many companies have lost hundreds of millions baht, but they survived because of international funding. It is noted that when competitors left the market, surviving firms have no choice but to restore their service price back to the original level.

Chartchai stated that NiM Express recognized these challenges and has been avoiding a price war.

“We believe that the prices of our offerings are fair and most accessible in the market. Although our competitors have cut their prices below costs, don’t forget that these new players take at least 2-3 days to deliver the goods at that price, but NiM Express offers a Next Day guarantee service. This is where our vision “Trust NiM Express” comes from.”

In addition, NiM Express will soon offer SLA Guarantee delivery services, making it the first express delivery service provider to give refund to clients, if we are unable to deliver the goods on agreed time. Simply put, “No Charge For Late Delivery.”

Soon, NiM Express will offer delivery services for items that need extra care, such as musical instruments, art pieces, as well as living things. Many do not know that, aside from shipping general products, we also deliver goods that need to be installed such as furniture and exercise equipment.

Aside from the usual DC, Shop and Drop Point service counters, clients can also reach NiM Express online via LINE Official Account @nimexpress that offers nearly the same service charge as visiting the physical outlets.

Furthermore, customers can also enjoy such features as collecting points to exchange for rewards and checking the delivery status, to name a few. Currently, the LINE Official Account has more than 60,000 members.

Furthermore, we also have mobile app “NiMExpress” as another channel to use our services. It can also be used to record your service logs.

Additionally, Chartchai said that soon NiM Express will hold a CSR project, aside from the existing free delivery service for The Mirror Foundation, promoting the “Made in Thailand” goods. We recognize that, although the e-commerce market is growing at a rapid pace, most of the products being offered are from abroad. Not a lot of Thai products are performing well. So, we want to have a project like this to promote the consumption of local products and the local Thai manufacturers.

“NiM Express is determined to continuously develop its services, to meet the market and to satisfy varying the ever-changing needs of clients. We are a small company of Thai people, so we need to keep moving, as we do not have the capital to engage in a price war. If we do that, there would not be any truly Thai national logistics company left. Our only choice is to develop the best services. Trust NiM Express,” concluded Somchai.
