Alliance Laundry optimistic about market growth in 2023

Alliance Laundry Systems LLC, the global leader in commercial laundry equipment, is confident that the Thai market will keep growing in 2023. It announces to launch two new products and the ‘1 district 1 laundromat’ campaign to increase its sales in Thailand and other countries. This year it targets a total revenue in APAC will reach 4.8 billion baht after it plans to penetrate the markets in Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos and Cambodia markets.

Sukree Kirai, Senior Regional Sales Manager – Southeast Asia of Alliance Laundry Systems LLC, says the total sales value of laundry washers and dryers in Thailand is expected to reach 1.75 billion baht, up 18% from last year. The sales growth is in line with the surging number of laundromats, thanks to the changing customer behavior and the recovery of the country’s tourism sector. Both factors have raised demand and investment in commercial laundry and On-Premise laundry services particularly in main tourism provinces.

“Thailand reported a total of 3,414 laundromats in 2022, and 681 out of 1,058 laundromats launched last year used our products. We forecast that there will be additional 1,150 laundromats in 2023, and 750 laundromats of them will use our products,” he said. “Another factor that will drive the market’s growth is the joint ventures between distributors and big corporates. If everything is on track, our sales revenue in Thailand will increase 20% from 1.1 billion baht last year to 1.32 billion baht this year.”

Alliance Laundry has set four business strategies in 2023, which include the launching of new products, higher production capacity, the expansion of overseas market, and the fueling-up of the laundromat expansion under the ‘1 District 1 Laundromat’ campaign.

Benjamin Leo Dobbs, Managing Director APAC of Alliance Laundry System LLC, discloses that the company plans to launch two innovative laundry machines under the IPSO® and Primus® brands this year. The first one is Stacked Washer-Extractor/Tumble Dryers. This model features touchscreen GUI technology that can be updated via a cloud system. This all-in-one machine’s body is made of premium-grade stainless steel with a luxury design. It comes in two sizes – 14 kilograms and 27 kilograms.

The second product is a New Aesthetic Design washer. The body made of premium-grade stainless steel is coated with elegant space black color. Both of them will be on market officially in April 2023 domestically and internationally.

In addition, the company has been developing the Apps Payment System software, which enables its products to fully support all payment systems. Importantly, distributors in each country can easily connect its products with any payment systems in each country.

“These two new products will enhance Alliance Laundry’s strength and support its market expansion in Thailand and other countries. We also plan to increase our production capacity in Thailand’s plant to 25,000 units per year in order to support the growing demand in the APAC market. We will penetrate the markets in Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos and Cambodia aggressively this year. For laundromats that open for more than 10 years, we will get their washers and dryers upgraded. Our sales revenue in APAC is projected to achieve 4.8 billion baht in 2023, up from 4.4 billion baht in 2022.”

For Thailand, it plans to launch a “1 District 1 Laundromat” campaign for supporting the aggressive expansion to set up at least one laundromat in each district nationwide within five years. It will focus on Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Udon Thani in the northeast, Suphanburi, Lopburi in the central region, and Phuket, Songkhla, Surat Thani in the south this year. The launching of this campaign reflects the rising of real demand for laundromats in the domestic market, after people have changed their behaviors post COVID-19 and have better understanding about laundromat services.
