Thai Union sets up Zero Discharge system at facilities in Samut Sakhon

Thai Union Group PCL. kicked off its Zero Discharge project at its fish plant in Samut Sakhon, Thailand, as part of a commitment to ensure no factory wastewater is released into the environment.

The wastewater management system was started this month as a pilot project for five of Thai Union’s factories in Thailand and Seychelles, as part of the Company’s SeaChange® 2030 sustainability commitment to best-in-class manufacturing, which includes targets for the 100 percent elimination of food waste, waste to landfill and water discharge by 2030. The fish plant in Samut Sakhon is the first of Thai Union’s factory’s to achieve 100 percent wastewater treatment.
