True deploys 3 COW units, boosts 5G/4G coverage at Vajira hospital road collapse site

True Corporation has swiftly responded to the road collapse on Samsen Road near Vajira Hospital by deploying three Cell-on-Wheels (COW) units to boost its 5G and 4G network coverage. This action is aimed at ensuring seamless communication for emergency responders and the public, while also providing support to government agencies managing the crisis.

The extensive sinkhole, which is several tens of meters wide and deep, has led to fallen electricity poles and damaged communication cables, disrupting mobile and home internet services for patients, residents, and commuters in the area. True’s executive team and network engineers were immediately dispatched to the site to assess the situation and implement emergency response protocols.

Mr. Jirachai Kunakorn, Deputy Chief Technology Officer at True Corporation Plc., stated, “We have activated our emergency preparedness plan immediately. By deploying three COW units to strengthen 5G/4G coverage, we aim to enhance communication capacity and support the large number of government and emergency teams that have been mobilized. We have applied lessons from past incidents, such as the earthquake building collapse, to ensure uninterrupted communication in this critical situation.”

In addition to strengthening its network, True has implemented relief measures for its customers. The company is providing 10GB of free mobile data for three days to all True Online customers in the affected area to ensure they can maintain continuous internet access for communication and daily needs.

True Corporation has also ramped up its 24-hour monitoring of both its mobile and home broadband networks in the surrounding areas to guarantee uninterrupted services for all residents. The company reaffirms its commitment to supporting the government and other organizations in managing the ongoing emergency at the Vajira Hospital road collapse site.
