RS joins hands with Grammy to lead music industry in Thailand

RS Music, a prominent player in Thailand’s music industry for over four decades, has teamed up with Grammy Music to launch the ACROSS THE UNIVERSE JOINT VENTURE.

The joint venture will feature a concert series that taps into the nostalgia marketing trend, drawing on the 90s and Y2K eras that are currently in vogue. This partnership is a reflection of RS Music’s business strategy of being open to new opportunities and collaborating with prospective partners, both locally and globally.

RS Music is also currently negotiating another significant deal with an international partner, with an announcement expected soon. These initiatives are part of RS Music’s efforts to expand its business prospects and support Thailand’s music industry, driving it towards global competitiveness.

The revival of 90s and Y2K trends by international fashion icons, as well as social media’s ability to disseminate these trends widely, has led to their resurgence in various industries worldwide, including music and fashion.

RS Music, the leading music label in Thailand, has capitalized on this trend by bringing together artists from different generations to host special concerts that tap into nostalgia marketing, allowing people to relive the good old days. The use of popular songs and dance moves from the past has proven to be an effective tool for attracting and engaging consumer groups.

According to Surachai Chetchotisak, CEO of RS Public Company Limited, RS has been a pioneer in Thai pop music culture for decades, and with the company’s clear business model and strong partners both domestically and internationally, this collaboration with Grammy is an excellent opportunity to begin working with different partners.

Wittawat Wetchabutsakorn, CFO of RS Public Company Limited and committee member of the ACROSS THE UNIVERSE JOINT VENTURE, added that under the joint venture, RS and Grammy have invested the same amount of funds to create an incredible experience for fans with the use of nostalgia marketing. The concerts will allow artists from different generations to perform on stage once again, engaging fans and creating a unique experience without any limits imposed by record labels.

The highly anticipated concert series for this year will consist of three major concerts with distinct themes in July, September, and October. With a lineup of popular artists from different generations, the concerts aim to bring joy and entertainment to fans.

The success of the concerts is expected to be driven by various factors such as the expertise of the country’s top production team, the excellent facilities of the venue IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, and the unique themes of the performances that are sure to appeal to the well-established fan base eagerly awaiting the return of their favorite artists.

Additionally, since the fans who grew up in the 90s are now in their working years and have stable financial status, the concerts are well-suited to their lifestyle and purchasing power.

The ACROSS THE UNIVERSE JOINT VENTURE is confident that the concerts will receive overwhelming feedback from fans, resulting in sold-out tickets in a limited time. After the income and profit from the joint venture have been divided equally, the media and entertainment businesses under RS Group are expected to reach their targeted income of 2.4 billion baht for the year.

The joint venture also aims to increase the visibility and popularity of the artists and their songs, thereby adding value to the owned music assets of both companies.

He also revealed that RS Music is currently in discussions with international firms for potential partnerships, which will be announced once finalized. The agreement is expected to be completed in the second quarter. Ultimately, the collaboration with all partners will drive the growth and competitiveness of Thailand’s music industry on a global scale, fulfilling the company’s ambition.
