Thai digital infrastructure provider Advanced Info Service (AIS) and property developer Bangkok Land Public Company Limited have announced a strategic partnership to deploy 5G networks, home broadband, and enterprise solutions across more than 4,000 rai of Muang Thong Thani.

The development project, titled “Muang Thong NEXT: The Smart & Connected City,” aims to upgrade the area from an event and exhibition destination into an integrated smart city model. The initiative will connect residential, commercial, educational, and transportation infrastructure within the district.

Network and Infrastructure Upgrades

Under the agreement, AIS will deploy a 5G-Advanced network using carrier aggregation technology. The upgrade is designed to provide higher speeds and lower latency to support high-density mobile usage at major exhibition venues and concert halls, including IMPACT facilities. The network is intended to handle high-bandwidth applications such as live streaming, real-time broadcasting, and extended reality.

For residential areas and communities within the district, the partnership will introduce AIS 3BB Fibre3 home broadband utilizing the WiFi 7 wireless standard. According to the announcement, this connectivity will support future remote services, including smart home applications and telemedicine.

Enterprise and City Management Systems

For commercial operations, the infrastructure deployment includes:

  1. Enterprise Solutions: Hyper connectivity, sovereign cloud, data center, and artificial intelligence (AI) services managed by technical teams to support corporate digital transitions.
  2. Event Connectivity: Dedicated WiFi networks and standalone 5G features like VIP Ultra and Boost Mode at IMPACT to handle high attendee volumes for exhibitors and visitors.
  3. Urban Management: Integration of AI-powered CCTV, smart traffic management, automated meters, and IoT access control systems.

Data collected across the residential, educational, and business zones will be consolidated into a centralized Smart City Data Platform and Digital Twin system. This setup will allow district administrators to monitor traffic, energy consumption, and safety parameters in real time.

Paul Kanjanapas, Chief Executive Officer of Bangkok Land Public Company Limited, stated that the implementation focuses on operational efficiency and connectivity across the live, work, play, and learn sectors. Kanjanapas noted that the integration of data systems and smart traffic management is intended to improve safety and public handling within the district.

Pratthana Leelapanang, Chief Executive Officer of AIS, indicated that the project aligns with the company’s transition from a standard network operator to an intelligent infrastructure provider. Leelapanang stated that the project’s performance will be evaluated based on the functional benefits delivered to residents and businesses, including access to transportation and digital services, rather than the volume of technology installed.

The project covers a 4,000-rai perimeter in Nonthaburi Province. AIS currently serves a total customer base of over 52.2 million users as of March 2026, which includes 46.9 million mobile subscribers and 5.3 million broadband users.
