ShardLab, SCBX, and Bitkub Group have officially announced the return of Southeast Asia Blockchain Week (SEABW) 2026. Scheduled for May 20–21 at ICONSIAM, the third edition of this premier summit aims to showcase Thailand’s leadership in digital asset integration and real-world blockchain utility.
At a press conference held on April 22, organizers declared Thailand the strategic host for the third consecutive year. The event is organized by global Web3 venture capital firm Hashed and its innovation arm ShardLab, in a major partnership with SCBX, Thailand’s leading fintech group, and Bitkub Group, the nation’s largest digital asset operator. This collaboration highlights Thailand’s pivotal role in the Southeast Asian digital asset landscape.
Hojin Kim, CEO of ShardLab, emphasized that the decision to host the event in Thailand was intentional, driven by the country’s strong market fundamentals. These include rapid technology adoption, regulatory clarity, and a surge in institutional participation. Kim noted that Thailand is successfully transitioning from experimental phases to actively integrating digital assets into its core financial system.
Representing the institutional sector, SCBX reaffirmed its goal to become a primary provider of digital asset infrastructure. Through its subsidiaries—SCB 10X, Token X, and InnovestX—the group is developing blockchain capabilities designed for practical financial services across the region. Their focus remains on building high-capacity infrastructure that supports real-world use cases.
Atthakrit Chimplapibul, co-founder of Bitkub Group, underscored the event’s importance in gaining global recognition for Thailand’s substantial digital ecosystem. He stated that SEABW 2026 serves as a critical platform to elevate the local industry’s visibility and attract international investment into the Thai blockchain sector.
Shifting Focus: From Speculation to Utility
SEABW 2026 is designed to shift the industry narrative from speculative trading to institutional adoption and real-world utility. The event expects over 5,000 attendees and will feature a week of side events across Bangkok. To ensure broad accessibility to Web3 knowledge, General Passes are being offered at no cost. The speaker lineup includes senior global leaders and regional institutional executives, reflecting the area’s growing status as an innovation and regulatory hub.
Five Core Themes of SEABW 2026
The summit will explore five pillars defining the future of digital assets:
