Central Restaurants Group to list seven restaurants on “Robinhood”

Remaining true to its commitment to supporting small players, both eateries and delivery riders affected by the economic downturns,“Robinhood”, a homegrown food delivery platform, recently teamed up with Central Restaurant Group Co., Ltd. (CRG), one of Thailand’s leading food chains, to list seven of its best restaurant brands — Mister Donut, Auntie Anne’s, Pepper Lunch, Chabuton Ramen, Cold Stone Creamery, Kowlune, and Salad Factory – on the Robinhood platform.

In the next phase, other CRG Group’s popular brands will be added. The move will help offer more options for customers in every segment. The collaboration is served as a gesture for “big players” to join forces supporting “small players”, whether to increase job opportunities and generate income for the delivery riders and restaurant staff of the CRG restaurant chain.

The collaboration will also allow more visibility as small eateries may gain attention while customers are exploring the application for popular brands. Eventually, it will lead to the creation of a supportive and strong ecosystem at large.

Speaking about this latest collaboration, Thana Thienachariya, Chairman of Purple Ventures and Robinhood app developer and provider said, “Ever since the soft launch late last year, today Robinhood has grown, with more than 650,000 registered customers, 12,000 delivery riders, and 61,000 eateries on our platform, most of which small eateries.

Based on the past ordering statistics and behavior, half of the transactions are booked at large restaurants and famous brands whose networks are covered on our platform.

This trend allows us to identify two important opportunities for small players. First, our delivery riders will be able to take more orders, bring more income.

Second, popular brands will help bring more customers to try and order food through Robinhood, meaning that more opportunities for customers to see more of the smaller shops listed on our platform.

This concept led us to the idea of inviting more and more “big players” to join the platform. Recently, we have received an honor from the Central Restaurants Group (CRG) as our partner. Initially, CRG will list seven of its brands that are well known and familiar among customers on our platform.”

Nath Vongphanich, President of Central Restaurants Group Company Limited (CRG), said that The resurgence of the Covid-19 outbreak has affected many sectors with no exception to the food business. CRG has taken lessons learned from the crisis to adapt and prepare for changing situations and consumer behavior in the new normal era by embracing technology to enhance its operations.

This is undeniably a new challenge for CRG because customers can also choose delivery options, instead of than dining in. It is the restaurants that have to reach out bringing its product offerings to customers instead.

“Therefore, a role of the delivery channel is increasingly important.  We are delighted to partner with Robinhood, a Thailand based food delivery platform. Apart from responding to needs of modern customers, we also help create jobs and generate income for both Robinhood’s delivery rider and CRG restaurant staff, allowing them to remain employed during the economic crisis and the hiking unemployment rate. It also helps CRG expands channels reaching out to customers more comprehensively. Initially, we are ready to list seven popular restaurant brands on the Robinhood application, comprising Mister Donut, Auntie Anne’s, Pepper Lunch, Chabuton Ramen, Cold Stone Creamery, Kowlune, and Salad Factory, before expanding to other brands in the CRG Group.”
