Retailer marks 15 years in Thailand with a focus on storage and organisation for fiscal 2027
IKEA Thailand said sales of its METOD kitchen range generated about 300 million baht last year, as the Swedish home furnishings retailer marked its 15th anniversary in the country with a six-store network and plans to focus on storage and organisation in fiscal 2027.
The company sold more than 9,000 METOD kitchen sets during the period. It said the performance placed its Thai business first in kitchen sales within the Ikano Group and 24th globally.
Kitchen, cooking and dining products were the focus of its “Everyday More Value” campaign last year, which promoted affordable home furnishings.
The retailer’s latest store opening in Khon Kaen brings its network in Thailand to six locations, extending its reach beyond its existing stores in Bangna, Bang Yai, Phuket, Sukhumvit and Chiang Mai.
Leonie Hoskin, retail business manager for IKEA Thailand and Vietnam, said the company would continue developing affordable products and accessible services to meet the needs of Thai households.
She attributed its development in Thailand to employees, customers, IKEA Family members, creators and business partners, following the opening of its first Thai store in Bangna 15 years ago.
IKEA said understanding local living habits remained central to its business. Through its Home Visit programme, employees visit customers’ homes to learn how people use their living spaces and identify their furnishing needs.
The company has also expanded its offering through IKEA for Business, which serves commercial customers.
For fiscal 2027, IKEA Thailand plans to put greater emphasis on storage and organisation through its “Every Version of You” campaign, under the theme “Make Space for What You Love”.
The campaign will focus on helping customers adapt their homes to different stages of life and changing lifestyles. The retailer said it would also continue its affordability initiatives and efforts to improve access to products and services.
To mark the anniversary, IKEA has introduced a limited collection incorporating Thai influences into its designs. Products include socks sold individually for mixing and matching, bags representing the six cities in its Thai store network, headscarves, specially designed FRAKTA bags, badges and keyrings.
The collection is available while stocks last, alongside anniversary activities and promotions in stores and online.
IKEA Thailand is part of Ikano Retail, an IKEA franchisee owned by the family of the brand’s founder, Ingvar Kamprad.
